Southern Baptist teams deliver emergency aid across the Midwest and Southeast amid deadly winter storms causing power outages and dangerous travel.
In the midst of severe winter storms that resulted in widespread power outages and dangerous travel conditions, Southern Baptist disaster relief teams are delivering emergency aid throughout the Midwest and Southeast. Volunteers are using mobile units with generators and heating to support vulnerable populations, provide shelter, and distribute supplies. Teams continue to operate despite the freezing temperatures and hazardous roads; no storm-related fatalities have been reported, but there is still a risk of hypothermia. In order to continue relief efforts throughout the winter, the Southern Baptist Convention is requesting donations and volunteer assistance.
