On Republic Day 2026, India's PM-SYM beneficiaries honored at parade; scheme offers ₹3,000 monthly pension to informal workers.
On January 26, 2026, Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya met with over 100 beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan scheme during India’s 77th Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi.

Launched in 2019, PM-SYM offers a guaranteed monthly pension of ₹3,000 after age 60 to workers aged 18 to 40 who contribute small monthly amounts matched by the government.
Administered via the Maandhan portal and Common Service Centres, the scheme supports income security for India’s informal workforce.
Mandaviya highlighted broader welfare efforts, including free foodgrains, expanded energy access, farmer subsidies, and education scholarships, framing them as part of a self-reliant India.
