A Northern Irish man was sentenced to at least 24 years for fatally stabbing and burning his sister in 2023.
A 27-year-old man from Northern Ireland, Kornelijus Bracas, was sentenced to a minimum of 24 years in prison for the premeditated murder of his sister, Alesia Nazarova, 37, in Portadown in 2023.
He stabbed her multiple times, set her on fire while she was alive, and injured his 12-year-old niece during the attack.
The court heard the crime was brutal and deliberate, with Bracas confessing to police and showing no remorse.
The sentence, handed down at Belfast Crown Court, means he must serve at least 24 years before being eligible for parole consideration.
