Irish car dealer Brian Grendon to be sentenced for hiding €27,000 in unreported cash from taxes.
Dublin car dealer Brian Grendon, 48, is set to be sentenced after pleading guilty to failing to pay income tax on over €27,000 in cash found in his home during a 2022 search.
The money, discovered in envelopes and bundles in his bedroom, was unreported and linked to his car business, which he said faced financial strain during the pandemic.
Grendon denied involvement in crime or money laundering, claiming the cash came from car sales.
His partner’s portion of the money was returned.
The case was adjourned to February 4 to confirm the exact tax amount owed, with a maximum penalty of five years in prison or a fine under the Taxes Consolidation Act 1997.
