Aylo will block new UK users from Pornhub Feb. 2, 2026, citing the UK’s Online Safety Act as ineffective against underage access.
Starting on February 2, 2026, Aylo, the parent company of Pornhub, will prevent new UK users from accessing its websites, claiming that the UK's Online Safety Act is insufficient to stop access by minors. Aylo contends that the law encourages users to use riskier, unregulated platforms, even though current age-verified users can still access content. According to the company, age checks at the device level from Apple, Google, and Microsoft would be more efficient and protective of privacy than the existing platform-based regulations. Aylo asserts that despite cooperation with regulators, the law does not prevent minors from accessing adult content; many manage to do so by using VPNs or noncompliant websites. Ofcom keeps up talks with Aylo while retaining enforcement power.
