Warwickshire County Council has launched a support package for children facing emotionally based school non-attendance (EBSNA), a condition linked to anxiety, trauma, or neurodivergence rather than refusal. The program equips schools with tools, training, and a graduated response framework to identify distress early, collaborate with families, and provide tailored support. So far, 143 schools and services have joined training sessions. The goal is to help children feel safe and supported, reducing long-term impacts on their education and mental health.
