Syria and Jordan agree on natural gas deliveries starting Jan. 1, 2026, to boost Syria’s power supply.
Syria and Jordan have signed a natural gas agreement to supply up to 140 million cubic feet of gas daily to Syria, starting January 1, 2026, to stabilize electricity generation.
The gas, delivered via Jordan’s infrastructure and a floating regasification unit at Aqaba port, will be transported through the Arab Gas Pipeline.
Initial deliveries range from 30 to 90 million cubic feet per day, with Jordan leasing an additional FSRU to ensure continuity beyond March.
The deal supports Syria’s energy recovery efforts amid ongoing infrastructure rebuilding and regional cooperation.
