A snowplow struck a couple in a Boston-area lot, killing the woman and injuring her husband during a storm.

A woman in her 50s died and her husband, 47, was seriously injured Sunday afternoon in Norwood when a snowplow truck backing up struck them in an MBTA parking lot during a snowstorm. The incident occurred around 2 p.m. as the couple walked through the lot. The 33-year-old driver, a private contractor hired by the MBTA for snow removal, stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene; her identity has not been released. The man was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Both MBTA Transit Police and the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office are investigating, and it remains unclear if criminal charges will be filed.
