RAGBRAI’s 2026 route, the shortest in its 53-year history at 391 miles, will run from July 18 to 25, beginning in Onawa and ending in Dubuque with a finish at A.Y.
McDonald Park.
The ride includes overnight stops in Harlan, Guthrie Center, Boone, Marshalltown, Independence, and Dyersville, featuring 16,027 feet of elevation gain—the 10th-hilliest route on record.
The event, themed “An Iowa Classic,” marks the first Dubuque finish in 16 years and Dyersville’s return as a stop after 19 years.
Organizers anticipate a major influx of visitors, with additional regional events including a new baseball stadium, concerts, and a children’s garden.
