A nurse agreed to be removed from the register over misconduct, though no racist claims were proven.
An Essex nurse, Freya Iratxe Martinez-Hurtado, has agreed to be struck off the Nursing and Midwifery Council register after allegations of racist social media posts and misconduct, including hostile behavior and outbursts at work.
Though the NMC found no evidence to substantiate the racist claims—due to deleted accounts and lack of witness cooperation—the nurse acknowledged other professional concerns, expressed remorse, and applied for removal in October 2025.
The NMC concluded the public interest was served by her voluntary removal, noting the alleged conduct would breach standards, but no guilt was found.
She may apply for readmission in the future.
