On January 26, 2026, Nigeria’s First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, called on all Nigerians to embrace environmental protection and cleanliness as a shared duty during the International Day of Clean Energy.
Speaking in Abuja, she urged nationwide adoption of renewable energy and sustainable technologies, aligning with the UN-established theme “Clean Energy for People and Planet.” She emphasized their role in ensuring public health and environmental sustainability, advocating for collective action to build a greener future.
The UN created the observance via resolution A/77/327 to promote a fair, inclusive global shift to clean energy.
