Namibian Olympic shooter Gaby Ahrens re-appointed to WADA’s top board and athlete council for 2026–2029.
Gaby Ahrens, a Namibian former Olympic shooter and current vice-president of the Namibia National Olympic Committee, has been re-appointed to two key roles at the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) effective January 1, 2026.
She will serve a three-year term on WADA’s 42-member Foundation Board, the organization’s highest decision-making body, and on the Athlete Council, representing athletes’ interests in global anti-doping policy.
Elected by her peers, Ahrens, 44, competed in three Olympics and won a Commonwealth Games bronze medal.
The NNOC praised her leadership and said her appointment reflects Namibia’s rising role in international sports governance.
