Michael Doherty pleaded guilty to murdering Courtney Angus after an armed Asda robbery in Dewsbury.
Michael Doherty, 37, has pleaded guilty to the murder of 21-year-old Courtney Angus, whose body was found in a Batley, West Yorkshire home in July 2025.
The case followed an armed robbery at an Asda in Dewsbury, where Doherty was arrested and led police to the residence.
He admitted to murder, theft, and three counts of threatening others with a blade, but denied possessing a bladed weapon and affray.
Angus, from Dewsbury, was described by her family as a vibrant young woman who loved music and socializing.
At Leeds Crown Court, Judge Tom Bayliss KC stated Doherty will receive a life sentence, with the minimum term for parole to be set by a future judge.
Doherty remains in custody pending sentencing.
