A man died in a solo crash on the San Bernardino Freeway early Sunday; investigation ongoing.

A person died in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning on the eastbound San Bernardino Freeway in West Covina around 4:50 a.m., involving a dark-colored sedan just west of Via Verde Street. A SigAlert was issued at 5:27 a.m., initially closing all eastbound lanes, but was revised by 6:11 a.m. to reopen the HOV and No. 1 lanes. The scene was cleared by 9:22 a.m., and authorities have not released the victim’s identity or the crash’s cause. The incident remains under investigation.
