Irish homeowners will soon be able to apply for grants up to €5,600 to retrofit windows and doors under the Better Energy Homes Scheme, starting March 3, 2026.
The fixed-amount support, part of a €558 million investment in Budget 2026, will help make homes more energy efficient and suitable for heat pumps, with amounts varying by home type and including up to €800 per door.
The initiative expands access to financial aid beyond previous programs that required costly deep retrofits, aiming to reduce energy bills and carbon emissions.
Details are expected to be confirmed by Minister for Energy Darragh O’Brien in a Cabinet meeting on January 27.
