Eastern Denmark launches film fund with DKK 40.5M to boost local production and jobs.
The Eastern Denmark Film Fund, backed by DKK 40.5 million in public and municipal support, launched to boost film and TV production in the region, aiming to attract international and co-productions, create local jobs, and balance Denmark’s film industry geographically.
The first applications are expected by summer 2026.
Meanwhile, at the 36th Tromsø International Film Festival, A Sad and Beautiful World won the top Aurora Prize, while other awards honored films addressing social issues, identity, and peace.
In Germany, the 47th Max Ophüls Prize recognized emerging talent, with Gropiusstadt Supernova winning Best Feature and Teresas Körper taking Best Director.
