Chhattisgarh’s 2026 Republic Day tableau honored tribal freedom fighters Veer Gundadhur and Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh, highlighting their roles in anti-colonial uprisings. It featured symbols of resistance like mango leaves and dried chilies, and showcased India’s first digital Tribal Freedom Fighters Museum in Nava Raipur, inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi. The Ministry of Home Affairs displayed the new Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, replacing colonial laws and effective since July 1, 2024, emphasizing a modern, citizen-centric justice system with forensic technology, the 112 emergency helpline, and accessible policing.
