The WorkWell programme, helping people with health issues stay in or find work, expands nationally after supporting over 2,800 in north London.
The WorkWell programme, a health and employment support service launched in October 2024 in north London, will continue expanding nationally with local funding. Operating in Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey, and Islington, it helps people with health conditions or disabilities stay in, return to, or find work through personalized plans with Work and Health coaches. Delivered by a partnership including NHS trusts, GPs, councils, Jobcentre Plus, and the Shaw Trust, it has supported over 2,800 people. The programme accepts referrals from GPs, Jobcentre Plus, or self-referral and is open to anyone aged 16 or older affected by health issues, regardless of benefit status. Officials and partners have praised its success in integrating health and employment services.
