Punjab Police arrested Raman Kumar, 30, over alleged ties to a Pakistan-based terrorist, recovering a pistol and linking him to a police station blast.
Punjab Police have arrested Raman Kumar, a 30-year-old Jammu resident, in connection with alleged ties to Pakistan-based terrorist Shahzad Bhatti.
Arrested in Mohali on January 21 under an Arms Act case, Kumar admitted to communicating with Bhatti via Instagram and WhatsApp and claimed to have received a .30 bore pistol through an intermediary.
Police recovered the weapon based on his confession and allege he provided financial support for a police station blast in Ambala.
The arrest is seen as a key breakthrough in disrupting a cross-border terror network.
