Megan Kathleen Casteel, also known as Megan Kathleen Johnson, was arrested in Hamilton County after stealing a white Lexus SUV from an O’Reilly Auto Parts parking lot on Highway 153 on January 24, 2026. She fled northbound before crashing into a ditch near the Highway 27 ramp. A foot pursuit, supported by drone surveillance, led to her capture in a wooded area. She faces felony charges in Hamilton County including evading arrest, possession of a stolen vehicle, reckless endangerment, and reckless driving. She also has outstanding warrants for burglary and failure to appear from Walker County, Georgia. The incident occurred during an ice storm warning in the region.
