Fans condemn BBC's Gladiators' new Everest challenge as unsafe and overly complex, amid injury reports.
Viewers of the BBC’s rebooted Gladiators have criticized the new Everest challenge, introduced in the third series of the 2024 revival, calling it overly complex and potentially unsafe.
The obstacle requires contestants to push a wall toward a Gladiator on a tilting platform high above the ground, with the platform’s tilt increasing over time.
Some fans labeled it a “health and safety disaster” and “ridiculously over-engineered,” expressing concern over injury risks.
This backlash follows reports that four Gladiators sustained injuries during filming in summer 2025, including knee and ACL damage.
The show, hosted by Bradley and Barney Walsh, continues to air Saturdays at 5:45pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
