A Bangladeshi court banned former DMP chief Asaduzzaman Miah and associates from traveling over corruption charges, including asset seizures and international investigations.
A Dhaka court has imposed a travel ban on former DMP commissioner Asaduzzaman Miah, his family, and his brother-in-law Anis Ahmed, brother of former Army Chief General Aziz Ahmed, over corruption allegations.
The orders, issued by Judge Md Sabbir Faiz, follow petitions by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), which alleges misuse of power, illegal asset acquisition, and money laundering.
The ACC has seized 36 properties worth 22 crore taka linked to Miah and his family, and is investigating assets in Malaysia, Singapore, and Dubai tied to General Aziz Ahmed’s circle.
The measures aim to prevent flight and asset disposal during ongoing probes.
