Thomas Casey, a 34-year-old father from Basildon, died in the A&E waiting room at Broomfield Hospital on January 16 after allegedly suffering a heart attack and being left in severe pain on the floor for an extended period.
His family claims staff failed to recognize a cardiovascular emergency and provided inadequate care, prompting an internal and independent investigation by NHS Mid and South Essex.
The trust has invited the family to meet with senior leaders, while Chelmsford MP Marie Goldman urged swift implementation of improvement plans to prevent future deaths.
The family called the loss “incomprehensible” and demanded accountability.
