A new heritage bar opens at Carlisle station in late February, featuring local beers and historic decor.
A new heritage-themed bar, Scott & Brassey, is set to open at Carlisle train station by late February, transforming the former first-class waiting room on Platform 4.
Owned by Lancaster Brewery, the venue features a mezzanine level, oak flooring, custom back bar, and restored historic elements like Gothic fireplaces and a vaulted ceiling.
It will serve eight cask ales and eight keg beers on the front bar, with 12 more on the back bar, plus spirits, and at least three local cask ales from within 20 miles.
Two beer gardens—one on the platform, one near the station entrance—will be accessible from both the platform and a new external door.
The bar replaces the former '301 Miles from London' venue and follows the success of Lancaster Brewery’s Tite & Locke at Lancaster station.
Licensing is approved, and final construction is underway.
