A man confronted her, questioned her identity, and told her she wasn’t welcome and should “go back to where you come from.” Though she has faced racist remarks before, she said being spat on was deeply upsetting. She reported the incident to the gardaí, emphasized Ireland is her home, and called for societal change, stating such attacks could happen to anyone. Two bystanders helped ensure her safety.
