Jamaica launches probe after cocaine found in police unit linked to recent arrest.
A high-level investigation has been launched in Jamaica after two parcels of cocaine were found in storage facilities of the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigations Branch during an audit ordered by Deputy Commissioner Richard Stewart.
The discovery followed the January 8 arrest of C-TOC inspector Martin Walker in a joint operation that yielded 5.8 kilograms of cocaine.
The breach of protocol prompted the removal of the Firearm and Narcotics Investigation Division from C-TOC’s oversight, with Commissioner Dr. Kevin Blake pledging full support for the probe.
The incident has intensified scrutiny over internal police accountability.
