Irish journalist Paddy Clancy, known for RTÉ’s "It Says in the Papers," has died at 82.
Paddy Clancy, an acclaimed Irish journalist and broadcaster, died at the age of 82.
He was best known for his decades-long stint on RTÉ Radio's "It Says in the Papers," where his distinct voice became a staple of Irish media.
Clancy's career spanned 60 years, with stints at major newspapers such as the Sun and Mirror, as well as reporting from conflict zones such as Northern Ireland during Bloody Sunday and war-torn Somalia.
He also worked as a news editor for Century Radio and hosted current affairs programs on Ocean FM.
He was born in Sligo, raised in County Donegal, and received a lifetime achievement award in 2019.
He died peacefully at Sligo University Hospital, surrounded by family.
