Indian squash player Anahat Singh advanced to the second round of the Sprott Tournament of Champions in New York, defeating England’s Lucy Turmel 11-3, 11-6, 9-11, 13-11. She will next face Japan’s Satomi Watanabe. The 17-year-old, ranked world No. 31, reached a career-high ranking of 28 in 2025 and won multiple PSA titles, including the HCL Squash Indian Tour 4 and the Daly College SRFI Indian Open. She previously reached the women’s under-19 final at the British Junior Open, losing to France’s Lauren Baltayan. In contrast, India’s Abhay Singh lost his opening match to Spain’s Iker Pajares in five sets. Both players contributed to India’s historic first Squash World Cup title, where the team defeated Hong Kong, China in the final.
