House committee expands fraud probe into Minnesota's daycare funding, seeking documents and interviews.
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., expanded a congressional probe into alleged fraud in Minnesota, requesting documents from the state’s Legislative Auditor and scheduling an interview with the Department of Human Services’ temporary commissioner.
The investigation follows claims by YouTuber Nick Shirley, who in late December 2025 alleged vacant daycare centers received taxpayer funds without providing services.
His video, posted on X, led to a January 7 hearing where state lawmakers testified, and Shirley later appeared before Congress, suggesting similar issues may exist in California.
The probe continues as the committee examines potential misuse of federal funds.
