The Gazette News Group has created a new political reporting role within its Community Journalism Fund, hiring veteran reporter Ted Remsnyder to cover regional politics across the Capital Region and Upstate New York.
Funded by a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supported by the Gazette News Group and The Schenectady Foundation, Remsnyder’s position allows independent, in-depth, nonpartisan reporting on elections, policy, and government accountability.
His work, along with health care reporter Chad Arnold’s, will be freely available online.
The fund has raised over $1.1 million and plans to hire more specialized reporters.
Remsnyder, praised for balanced coverage in a recent mayoral race, aims to clarify political developments and inform communities on how decisions impact their lives.
