A winter crackdown by Northern Ireland police from December 1, 2025, to January 1, 2026, resulted in 288 arrests for drink or drug driving, including a 14-year-old, with one driver registering nearly five times the legal alcohol limit.
Over 5,200 breath tests were conducted, and nearly 5,700 speeding offences were recorded, along with 35 seatbelt violations and 75 mobile phone use incidents.
