New Zealand has replaced injured pacer Adam Milne with Kyle Jamieson in its ICC T20 World Cup squad after Milne tore his left hamstring during a SA20 match.
Milne, who played 56 T20Is and took 65 wickets, was in strong form for Sunrisers Eastern Cape.
Jamieson, originally a travelling reserve, has impressed during New Zealand’s tour of India with six wickets in the ODI series and 2/54 in the first T20I.
Coach Rob Walter expressed disappointment for Milne but praised Jamieson’s readiness and work ethic.
A second travelling reserve will be named soon.
New Zealand begins its World Cup campaign on February 8 against Afghanistan in Chennai, in Group D with South Africa, Canada, and the UAE.
