Gas prices in the Midwest rose to an average of $2.65 per gallon on Monday, marking the second consecutive weekly increase, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
This reflects a 5-cent rise from the previous week’s $2.60 and a 4-cent increase since last month.
Prices have ranged from $2.58 to $3.10 over the past year, with the current level 11% lower than the $2.98 average from a year ago.
The national average was $2.81, making Midwest prices about 5.6% below the U.S. average.
The data covers 15 states including Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio.
