India's top securities tribunal cut Avadhut Sathe's fine to ₹100 crore, allowing it to keep operating after depositing the amount.
The Securities Appellate Tribunal has reduced the penalty for Avadhut Sathe Trading Academy from ₹546 crore to ₹100 crore, allowing the firm to continue operations after depositing the amount in a fixed deposit.
The tribunal upheld SEBI’s finding that the academy operated unregistered investment advisory services, collecting ₹601 crore from over 337,000 investors through misleading educational programs.
While lifting restrictions on bank accounts and trading, it barred asset sales and allowed limited withdrawals for expenses.
The decision follows SEBI’s 2025 probe that uncovered unauthorized use of live market data and false profit claims.
The next hearing is set for January 9, 2026.
