The Cure’s “Boys Don’t Cry” hit 1 billion Spotify streams, making it their first song in the Billions Club.
The Cure’s 1979 single “Boys Don’t Cry” has become the band’s first song to reach over one billion streams on Spotify, joining the platform’s Billions Club.
Originally released as a standalone track and later included on the band’s debut U.S. album—known as *Three Imaginary Boys* in the U.K.—the song is considered their signature hit.
To mark the milestone, The Cure will release *Boys Don’t Cry (86 Mix)* on January 30, featuring the original single and three B-sides: “Plastic Passion,” “Pillbox Tales,” and “Do The Hansa.” The release will be available on CD and digital platforms, with limited-edition vinyl set for April 21, all now available for preorder.
