CMA CGM launched its 400th vessel, the methanol-powered CMA CGM Monte Cristo, part of its push for greener shipping.
CMA CGM has launched its 400th owned vessel, the methanol-powered CMA CGM Monte Cristo, a 16,204-TEU container ship built in China and set to begin service on January 29.
The first of six such vessels, it will operate on a route linking North Asia, the Levant, and the Adriatic Sea.
The delivery brings CMA CGM’s methanol-fueled fleet to 11 ships, with 24 more on order, supporting its goal to have around 200 dual-fuel LNG and methanol vessels by 2031.
The company continues expanding its global fleet, now over 700 vessels, aiming to close the gap with Maersk and advance its decarbonization strategy.
