A U.S. Senate Commerce subcommittee will hold a January 28 hearing on ticket pricing and consumer protection in live entertainment, focusing on antitrust concerns against Live Nation and Ticketmaster, as well as the FTC’s lawsuit against reseller Key Investment Group for allegedly using multiple accounts to bypass purchase limits.
The hearing, chaired by Senator Marsha Blackburn, will examine anti-competitive practices, bot-driven ticket purchases, and efforts to curb exploitative scalping, including President Trump’s 2025 executive order supporting reforms.
Testimony will include a Live Nation executive and musician Kid Rock, who has criticized scalpers using automated systems.
