Pilot Energy launches 1MW data centre in Western Australia, expanding to 4MW by mid-2026.
Perth-based Pilot Energy is set to launch the Dongara Data Centre in Western Australia’s Mid West region, with a 1-megawatt modular unit beginning operations in early March 2026 and expanding to 4MW by mid-2026.
The project, developed with UAE’s Kala Data FZCO, will use existing gas generators and Pilot’s operations team, enabling revenue without major added costs.
Located near established infrastructure, it will be the first data centre in the region, connecting globally via Starlink.
The facility supports Pilot’s shift toward carbon storage and could expand to 30–35MW, leveraging solar resources and existing energy systems.
