Lactalis recalled six batches of its Picot infant formula in 18 countries after discovering cereulide, a toxin that causes vomiting and diarrhea, in an omega-6 ARA ingredient supplied by an international vendor. The recall follows a similar global action by Nestlé and a precautionary move by Danone in Singapore, all of which were linked to contaminated ARA oil manufactured in China. French authorities are looking into a possible link to a baby's death, as concerns grow about ingredient safety in global infant nutrition supply chains.
