A judge lets former Alabama player Charles Bediako play temporarily despite NCAA eligibility denial.
A Tuscaloosa Circuit Court judge has granted former Alabama basketball player Charles Bediako a temporary restraining order, allowing him to participate in team activities and potentially play in upcoming games despite the NCAA’s denial of his eligibility appeal.
The order, valid for 10 days, blocks the NCAA from penalizing Bediako, the University of Alabama, or its staff and players.
Bediako, who played two seasons at Alabama and signed a two-way NBA contract with the San Antonio Spurs in 2023, has since played in the NBA G League.
His case challenges the NCAA’s eligibility rules, particularly after similar players like Baylor’s James Nnaji were allowed to return.
A full hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, with the final decision pending.
