Ireland commits €75M to a €500M battery storage fund for renewable energy and grid stability by 2026.

The Ireland Strategic Investment Fund has committed up to €75 million to a new €500 million energy storage fund managed by Gore Street Capital, aiming to develop battery projects across Ireland. The fund will acquire and operate greenfield battery storage sites to boost grid flexibility, support renewable energy integration, and strengthen energy security. Backed by ISIF and the European Investment Fund, the initiative supports Ireland’s net zero goals and climate action strategy, with the fund targeting completion by end-2026.
