An Indian Air Force training flight crashed in Prayagraj on Jan. 21, 2026, due to a technical fault; both pilots ejected safely.

On January 21, 2026, an Indian Air Force microlight aircraft was conducting a routine training flight when it crashed into a pond in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Residents and emergency personnel rescued both pilots without any injuries after they safely ejected. Due to a technical issue, the aircraft landed in an uninhabited area close to KP College without injuring any civilians or damaging any property. In response to a similar incident in November 2025, the Indian Air Force has established a court of inquiry to ascertain the cause.
