India to revise customs duties to boost domestic electronics manufacturing ahead of 2026-27 budget.
India’s government will hold an all-party meeting on January 27 ahead of the January 28–April 2 Budget Session, which will include 30 sittings and open with a presidential address.
The Union Budget 2026-27 is set for presentation on February 1.
The Finance Ministry announced revised customs duties to support domestic electronics manufacturing, raising the Basic Customs Duty on flat panel displays to 20% to fix an inverted duty structure, reducing it to 5% on open cells and key components, and fully exempting duties on parts used in LCD/LED TV production.
These changes aim to strengthen India’s electronics sector under the 'Make in India' initiative.
