India opens world’s first hybrid hospital merging Ayurveda and modern emergency care in Haridwar.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated Patanjali’s new emergency and critical care hospital in Haridwar on January 22, 2026.
The facility, part of the Patanjali Yogpeeth wellness complex, is described as the world’s first integrated hybrid hospital combining traditional Indian medicine—such as Ayurveda, yoga, naturopathy, and Panchakarma—with modern emergency care.
Co-founder Baba Ramdev highlighted its focus on detoxification and treating chronic conditions through holistic therapies, including enemas and Shirodhara.
CEO Acharya Balkrishna said the hospital has treated over 1.38 crore patients globally.
The project, supported by Sunil Ahuja, is part of a larger campus featuring a university, wellness center, and affiliated medical facilities promoting physical, mental, and spiritual well-being through natural, science-based approaches.
