Europol-led raid shut down a major EU synthetic drug ring, seizing tons of drugs and precursors, arresting over 85, and dismantling 24 labs.
European law enforcement, led by Europol, dismantled a major international synthetic drug network in a coordinated operation across Poland, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, and other EU nations, seizing around 1,000 tons of chemical precursors, 330 tons of synthetic drugs including MDMA and amphetamine, and shutting down 24 industrial-scale labs.
The yearlong investigation, which began in 2024 after suspicious imports of legal chemicals from China and India were detected, led to over 85 arrests, including two suspected Polish ringleaders, and the confiscation of real estate, cash, and more than 120,000 liters of toxic waste.
Authorities described it as the largest operation of its kind, targeting a supply-chain strategy to disrupt production at its source, with profits estimated at up to 30 times the cost of chemicals.
While a significant blow to organized crime, officials warned that other networks remain active.
