Eddie Poai, 50, of Hilo, pleaded guilty on January 21, 2026, to federal charges of methamphetamine distribution and firearms offenses linked to three incidents on Hawaii Island between February 2021 and October 2022.
Authorities found over 90 grams of meth and a loaded .45 pistol during a traffic stop in 2021, more than 600 grams of meth and multiple weapons at a property in 2022, and a loaded 9mm pistol, meth, and $4,000 during his arrest that October.
He faces life in prison, a potential $10 million fine, and lifetime supervised release.
Sentencing is set for April 20, 2026.
