Derrick Wayne Bettis, 33, was arrested after a high-speed motorcycle chase on Highway 58 in Hamilton County, Tennessee, on Wednesday afternoon.
The pursuit began at 3:15 p.m. when a deputy attempted a traffic stop after observing reckless driving, prompting Bettis to flee at over 100 mph.
The chase moved north on Highway 58 and onto Birchwood Pike before Bettis abandoned the motorcycle near Condra Drive.
He was arrested after discarding a firearm into nearby woods, which was recovered.
Bettis faces multiple felony charges, including evading arrest, reckless endangerment, possession of a firearm with intent to go armed, reckless driving, possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with evidence, driving on a revoked license, and violating financial responsibility law.
No injuries were reported.
