The Butler Rotary Club hosts a literacy luncheon, while local partners launch a healthcare training program and distribute 500 kindergarten lesson kits.
The Butler Rotary Club will host its annual Luncheon for Literacy on Feb. 22 to support BC3’s adult literacy program, which has helped 600 adults earn diplomas over 16 years.
The event features author Dick Hartung, lunch, raffles, and a decorated-table contest.
Meanwhile, Butler Area School District, BC3, and Independence Health System launched the Healthcare Pathways Program to train high school students for health care careers like nursing and medical assisting, offering hands-on experience and college credits.
In a separate effort, United Way volunteers packed 500 lesson kits for kindergarten students in Butler, including books, art supplies, and activities, funded by McDonald’s and state tax credits.
