An 80-year-old woman sues family members, alleging a forged trust seized her estate and company control after she had a stroke.

Rani Kapur, 80, has filed a suit in Delhi High Court, alleging that her daughter-in-law Priya Kapur and others formed a fraudulent trust in 2017 to unlawfully seize her estate and control of Sona Group companies. She claims the RK Family Trust was established without her consent, using forged documents and undue influence following her stroke, and that she was misled into believing it was a rebranding of previous valid trusts. After her son Sunjay Kapur died in June 2025, she claims Priya quickly took over corporate roles, denied her access to company data, and used a fake email account. Rani wishes to dissolve the trust, reclaim her assets, and obtain a full accounting. The case includes 23 defendants, including Karisma Kapoor's children.
