A UK prison officer was jailed for three years for sex with inmates and smuggling drugs, exposing a major breach of trust.
Isabelle Dale, a 23-year-old former prison officer at HMP Coldingley, was sentenced to three and a half years in prison for engaging in sexual relationships with two inmates, including Shahid Sharif, and conspiring to smuggle synthetic cannabis, known as 'Spice,' into a prison.
She was caught having sex with an inmate in a prayer room while others acted as lookouts and used equipment like carbon paper to evade detection.
Dale, who had Sharif’s nickname tattooed on her neck and sent love letters, was convicted on two counts of misconduct in a public office and one count of conspiracy to bring prohibited items into prison.
The case revealed a serious breach of trust within the UK prison system, with her actions condemned as manipulative and corrupt by the judge.
Sharif and associate Lilea Sallis were also sentenced for their roles in the smuggling plot.
